Car Purchase Question, 1) 2001 Camry 2) 2017 Avalon or 3) new Honda Civic

2001 Camry, 186,000 Miles, private seller, asking $3200

2017 Toyota Avalon, 28,000 miles, dealership, asking $ $23,700

- V6

- touring model

2023 Civic, Brand new, anywhere around $23,000 to $27,500

- will probably go base model, either sedan or hatchback

Vehicle inspections on used cars pending.

Need help deciding between the three options of the vehicles.

Would personally like the Toyota Avalon, but might be better to purchase a daily driver for the short term.

If i purchase either the Avalon or Civic, it'll be driven And cared for until the wheels fall off, particularly the Avalon.

It depends on what you want.

If you want a factory warranty and the least number of problems and breakdowns, as well as potentially the longest life, it's the new Civic hands down.

If you want to spend the least up front and don't mind having to frequently wrench on a decades-old beater to keep it going the Camry is the ticket.

If you want the best comfort and performance with the possibility of having to do some repairs in the near future that would be the Avalon.

Civic:
Definitely attractive from the POV of warranty and fewer problems/breakdowns.

The reason why I'm considering this is because the cost of the used Avalon is very closed to this cost perspective.

Only concern is the steering issues associated with the civic for the last 4-5 years. It seems the 2023 still has these issues.

Camry:

If I go this route, just looking to get 1-2 years out of the car. If I can squeeze any more time out of the car, that's extra value.
It seems like it was well take care of.

Avalon:

Comfort/Performance of the V6, which is really rare now. Personally, I prefer the V6 in terms of the ride quality. It's one one of the most reliable years to be purchasing from. Looking to probably put 15k down and pay finance the rest over 1 year.

Only concern here is the vehicle appears to have had at least 2 owners in the last 5 years.
The first owner drove the vehicle for only 6 months. They probably leased the vehicle then transferred the lease title.
Second owner likely drove the vehicle for the following 5 years. During this time, they likely continued the lease, purchased outright, then traded in their vehicle when they decided to purchase a new vehicle.

Only concern here is the service history 🙁

Well you're comparing apples and oranges with these vehicles of various year and prices so it depends on your budget and what you like so we can get better answer. The Camry is way too old unless if it's a newer Camry, they're good cars too. The Avalon and the Civic are also well made.
