2010 Chevy 1500 Silverado Z71, How to make it last?

I recently bought a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 with Z85 trailering package, the 5.3L V8 with the dreaded Active Fuel Management, it had 119k on the odometer and I bought it from a farmer, it was made in Mexico. It has no engine codes, no weird noises, no rust, it is telling me that the sensors for tire pressure are dead but I don't trust those anyway, 5 local mechanics said it's in great shape.

I know you're not fond of GM products but I needed a truck I could afford to get me up and down the ice mountain I call home after my 98 Dodge Dakota died. My 98 got to 458k miles before the motor died and took the transmission with it, so 400k is about what I try to get my vehicles to.

I am wondering if you have any advice to help me make this truck last, I am driving in M5 until I can afford to get the AFM deleted but this is my first GM so I don't know any of the qurks to make them last. Thanks for any and all advice.

change the oil religiously

Understood, I did that to get the 98 as far as I did but always good to be reminded of the basics, especially in "new" cars where the simple things slip your mind
