2020 Toyota Tacoma 2wd automatic with 11,000 miles.
Last oil change at selling dealer at 9,200 miles. Recently, low oil light illuminated. Immediately added 2 quarts of proper viscosity Royal Purple, noticing smoke from oil filler tube and gas/exhaust smell on dipstick. Some oily residue in exhaust tip. Took truck to same dealer who wanted to do an oil change and have me back in 1,000 miles. I said no to prevent possible damage, requesting a leak down and compression check. They wanted to charge for the tests but I refused, advising they either under filled the oil or the truck was covered under powertrain warranty for excessive oil consumption. They have had the truck for 2 days with no word. Does this sound like damage to the piston rings and/or valve seals or will adding the proper amount of oil fix the issue? Worried about my pride and joy. Thanks. {black}:idontknow:

Yes, unless somehow the PCV system has gotten clogged up but I would not expect that on such a new vehicle.

Very unlikely.
