What to look out for, buying this Volvo 744

Hey!

I am looking for a old Volvo redblock, and came across this volvo in a town near me for only €2700.

Owner story:

The owner sais they found it in a garage where it has been for about 5 years, not running. Previous owner was an old man who couldn't drive anymore. Also the mileage is confusing, because it had 95.000km at a point, and 93.000km a few years later.

I want to know what to look for when I meet the owner.

The car:

The car is a Volvo 744 from 1990, GL, no air-conditioning, Manual transmission, sedan, running on gasoline.

Also it has some minor paint damage on the hood, which I consider to be no problem. Right now it has around 100.000 km (around 62.000 miles). So that doesn't sound like a lot, but there is the possibility that is has been reset once.

As for seller, it's a private party

Please let me know what you think!

Nearly $3000 for a 34 year old car? with questionable mileage???

Take @gew 's advice.

What is your intention, to use this as a weekend toy to play around with or as a daily driver? For most people using a car over 30 years old as a daily driver is not a good idea. As a project you're not relying on for transportation it could be fun. Those old Volvos were built like tanks, but time takes its toll.
