Scotty, my wife and I have a 2018 camry and a 2019 rav4. They use 0w-16 synthetic oil. I don't believe in 10k mile oil changes specified by Toyota. We drive each vehicle less than 6k miles per year, city driving. I use mobil 1 oil and oil filters. Can I continue changing the oil once a year or should I start changing it every 6 months. Each vehicle currently has less than 25k miles. Thanks Steve from Maryland
Every 5,000 miles or once a year. If you're a fanatic about it, do it every 6 months. It's not going to hurt anything, except set you back for the cost of the oil and filter.
If you're driving less than 6,000 miles per year I personally would just do an oil change once a year with full synthetic
This is answered in the FAQ
I was concerned about oil breaking down from condensation buildup from sitting so much if I continue to wait a year between oci. Will this be an issue.
Scotty has stated that oil begins to break down at 5K miles. However, for those who don't put 5K miles on a car per year, moisture contamination is our main concern. Living in the upstate of S.C., I experience similar weather conditions to those in Maryland. I change my oil and filter every 6 months.

Thank you!
