2007 4.8l rwd 1500 silverado 138,xxx miles I have a power steering fuild leak. I jack the whole front end up and had someone go full turn to turn to try and spot the leak. No noises or lack of assistance in steering. I could not spot the leak. When you go into full turn you can hear and see the engine(serpentine belt) idling lower and I confirmed that on the rpm gauge. Is this normal (rmps)? Should I buy leak dye add it and take a short drive to spot it?

It is a good idea.

I'll try that next then. What do you think about the rpms. When it's full turn it sounds like the pulley is adding resistance and the belt slows down because of it

What's your idling rpm in normal condition (with straight steering column)?

About 600 when turned goes to 400
