- Hey scotty I have a 2006 Toyota Tundra with 176,000 miles v8 when I do U-turns or as I turn the steering wheel I hear a winding sound? Is an an indication of anything, should I be worried? Is the power steering going out? If so what what I have to replace?

Have you check the fluid level on the power steering? That winding sound could very well be the power steering pump. Have somebody else work the wheel while you check and listen under the hood.

Your fluid is full and they get old and you turn them the whole way they'll often Make some noise personally ignore it as long as it stairs okay
