Hello.
my daughter bought a 2008 Toyota Corolla 140k 3600$. In California.
it doesn’t have power windows or power locks.
I can go to the junk yard and buy them.
the thing is that are the Electrical plugs In the body or would I have to rewire the whole thing?
thank you.
Why do you think she really needs power windows and door locks? Do you actually need them or just want them? Is it worth a couple of thousand dollars not to have to manually roll a window down? Seriously?? Beside, if she ever accidentally goes into a pond or lake, you'll be glad she had manual windows and doors because when the electric version gets wet, she'll never be able to get out of the car.
This is California we're talking about here.
I get that - everything electric is good, except when it comes time to fix it.
I don't know that much about power windows, but whenever it breaks I've heard you have to take some of the door apart. Can't imagine if it's a manual window and manual locks in the first place, probably not worth it. See the good thing about manual windows and manual locks is it will never ever stop functionning, while power windows and locks tend to slowly fade over time, especially if abused. See the advantages you already have and you'll get use to it quickly anyway.
You would just about need to replace the entire door, and still need wiring and modules.
