Is a 2015 Camry that is built in the U.S.A. as dependable as a 2015 Camry that was built in Japan?

No it isn't.

But the question is, how much worse is it made? And the answer is: not enough to matter.

Toyota maintains strict QC standards at all of their plants. I wouldn't worry about it.

Keep in mind that quality/reliability/durability has to be designed/engineered in from the beginning long before the vehicle is assembled, which Toyota is generally good at doing (at least compared to the competition today).  And they have quality control steps and processes that have to be carefully followed at the factory, so end of the day I would not lose sleep over where it is built (USA vs. Japan in this case).  The US-made Camry is still near the top of its class when it comes to reliability and longevity.

They are still well built, but the Japanese-made ones are better. Although if you want a Japan-built 2015 Camry in North America, that's gonna be tough to find. You would probably have to go older if you want a Japanese-made Camry, ik my friend recently sold his Japanese-made 2004 Camry for a 2020 Toyota Rav4.

Almost but not quite

For cars that have a few years or miles on them, I would tend to go for the one that was maintained more faithfully.
