Scotty, I have a 2012 Prius C4, with 81000 miles. No car payments❤️ Never a problem with this car, I bought it new. Fantastic gas mileage. I’m going to start Traveling Nursing in Colorado, Montana and East Coast. I was contemplating a Subaru Outback. Hate to loose the gas mileage😢. I live in Missouri and had to use my 1995 Chevy truck to get to work. Prius not good in deep snow, low to the ground. What do you think?
A Subaru would be fantastic in CO and MT. If you had to buy something, that’s what I would get.
But you said you like your current car (and like having no car payment).
Another option would be to upgrade to better tires. If they make the Michelin Crossclimate in your size, that would make a big difference. (They might not go that small. But other brands make similar snow-rated tires).
Also consider the Subaru Forrester alongside the Outback. The Prius is a fine vehicle, but if you need AWD, Subaru is one of the better systems you can get. One of the benefits of the Subaru is the lower center of gravity.
Scotty always says that front wheel drive with snow tires is better than all wheel drive with all season tires
Like Dad said I'll try to get Michelin cross climate or Michelin defender which are very good in the snow and also all season or you can get snow tires
You can also look into snow socks and sounds silly but it's actually a real thing that works pretty good
