I am looking into one on Facebook Marketplace. It currently needs brake pads, tires, and a water pump pulley. It currently has everything it needs to run. I just have to put the belt on and test drive it. I know how to put belts on so would it be worth checking into getting and test driving? I had an 06 same model just one year older and it had 246k miles and ran fine.

If you're handy, then a little bit of negative equity is still okay as long as you get a decent running car at the end that lasts at least a year. But this thing sounds like it'll put you in a permanent deep hole that you'll never recover from.
