Meant to say Ecotec. And yea some engines are just poorly designed, but ya get the point.
“Any engine” - you sure about that? The 3 contributors to longevity/reliability (IMO) are 1.) Design/engineering (long before assembly or owner maintenance); 2.). Assembly at the factory; and 3.) owner maintenance.
Obviously, #3 is in the owner’s control and goes a long way to prolonging the engine life, no arguing that. But it is no substitute for #1 and #2 above. It will last the longest if #1, #2, #3 are all done properly (with longevity/reliability in mind). #1 certainly costs a lot of money and there may not be an incentive for the manufacturer to design/engineer an engine that will last “a long time”.
I totally agree.
You couldn't save a Mini engine if you changed the oil every day.
Guess you didn’t see my comment on my post. 🤣 Yea Chrysler products and some others just have no help at all.
that's ok. Scotty uses clickbait titles so I guess everyone can. 😉
This is known as anecdotal evidence. It is not "proof."
It's not exactly proof, but yes, you should change your oil regularly. Congrats on the healthy high mileage Saturn.
