I own a 2002 Lexus ES 300 with 117K miles. Recently a pulsating droning sound is coming from the front end, I think the passenger side. The sounds frequency pulsating increases with the speed of the car. What would be possible causes? The tires are securely on and do not move when pushing and puling on 12 to 6 or 3 to 9. Thank you.
I had a bearing problem with my old Nissan Maxima. The way I found out it was the bearing (it was the right side front bearing), was the fact that when I made a left turn the humming sound would get louder, since the car would lean on the right side and the weight would push on the bearing more. I replaced it and the sound went away. Might be your case too. If that is not the case, check the tire wear. If it is uneven, then that might be the problem. Also, the tire compound plays a role here sometimes.
Before anything else, check the tires first.
Could be tire or bearing noise.
