Hey what do you think about the brand new brz as a first car in a automatic transmission? I am thinking about getting first automatic but since I can't find one new and I prefer brand new because of risks associated of used sports cars. Afterwards I will trade in mines in for a manual one. What do you think? If I cannot find a automatic brz should I special order?

Sports cars and drivers just starting out don't mix very well. Your or your parents' car insurance will skyrocket if you buy that car. Throw in that the car would be brand-new, your insurance will enjoy your monthly payment, you or your parents, not so much. Personally, I'd skip buying sports cars until you're 25 or so. Your premiums will decrease significantly, and you'll have a few years worth of driving experience before you go whole hog on buying one.

I got my 2017 Mustang when it was brand new in 2018, I was 27 at that time. I still have it. I have full coverage on both my truck and Mustang and it only costs me $150 a month. I've never been in an accident, and I've never gotten a ticket in the 12 years I've driven.

My wife's insurance on her 2017 EcoBoost Mustang alone costs her $150 a month because she's gotten tickets.

I'll probably take defensive driving classes but I'll see what I'll do. My grades in college are pretty good so it might be something.
