I've been looking at certain cars in the market, and I found some cars that seemed good, but the only options I have as of right now are a 2008 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL with 154k miles, and two 2006 Honda civics DX; one having 119k miles and the other 140k miles. Cars in my area sell quickly unfortunately so I'm trying to have options as of right now, especially with the range of price. What do you guys think is the best option in my case. Any recommendations to check beforehand, experiences, suggestions, should I just avoid all of them, etc. Thank you.
Between those Honda Civics and the Nissan Altima, the Civic is the best choice by far. 119k miles, if that is the real mileage, is hardly broken in. Have a mechanic check it out to make sure it's mechanically sound. Nissan was well on its way downhill by 2008, especially their front wheel drive vehicles like Altimas. They started getting their direction from Renault after they were bought out in 2000, and quality lacked, which is even worse today. Scotty's mentioned customers with more recent Nissan Rogues breaking CV axles driving in parking lots.
Do not even think about that Nissan. Between the Civics, choose the one your mechanic approves.
