Hello , Scotty. Im huge fan.I am in need help .long story wish I could speak to you. When I bought the car he said only needs a strut and Gasket cover changed. Ok so after 2days he told me then ran computer told him repalce spark plugs and many things said was almost done. His mechanic got drunk messed my car up I was told. So he said when he drove it whistle loud so he was not sure This guy own a shop also FYI so I came get car drove it im driving down hwy and hear noise about 45 miles and car starts slowing down turns off wont start about 1 hr starts he had tow 😩 truck get me. So this where I'm at now 1 month yesterday I bought car still dont have His friend who Master mechanic only workd on bmw had car 2 weeks 2 days go told me it drive its good and ready oh not to mention had a small oil leak also was fixed and had all new parts from sparks ,solenoids, pvc value , exhaust bolts to manifold which had recall something and he told me he bought a New Gasket and he didn't. So he bought a new cap and ring for oil filter housing so he calls yesterday said he has repalce the gasket cover I said what do u mean you did that already I dont understand apparently he had go buy a new one which was 300 dollars and he said when he started it other morning car was doing same noise when he closed the oil cap noise was staying he took off it stopped. ???? SO last night he said he was under the gasket Intake and looks some hoses were no hooked up right I have no idea what to belive what is going on and the guy paying for all this be fix not me the mechanic said dont worry he will find prob. But if he fixed and ran scan wouldn't told him there still a problem in the car what I dont understand man... and I had put insurance on the car 1 month ago and it due have not had car 1 month 1 day. Please help me and he has put so many new parts on the car he said. What do you think I ask about gasket leaks also .Im sorry I wrote alot just so much going on at onec .Help!!!!! OK, take a deep breath. I'm sorry you are getting this treatment, but what you do from here on out depends on a few things you didn't state.
1. Did you buy this car from a dealership, used car lot, or an individual?
2. What is the relationship between the seller and the mechanic?
3. Do you have documentation on the work that was promised and/or done - receipts, etc.?
4. Did you pay cash or did you finance it, and if so, what kind of financing - bank, dealership, other
Immediately, start documenting what happened, and any future promises, explanation of work done, etc. From what you said, it sounds like somebody is "taking you to the cleaners".
