Hi scotty.
Am planning to get these cars kindly advice me on which ones will be a deal for my money & less mechanical horrors. Don't want high expensive maintenance
2009 or 2010 Rx350
2005 Nissan Xtrial 250x (Japan)
2004 or 2006 Lexus Gx470
2005 Lexus Es330
2005 Lexus Es330
Get this one.
Thanks for your reply, however I plan on buying the four cars & not one car. So please advice on the year models I asked about
I assume you live in the US.
The RX and GX cars can be expensive to repair when things break. About the Nissan, I would not consider it because it seems that it has not been sold in the US and getting parts for it can be a pain.
Thanks so much.
Which other suv would you recommend I get to replace the Rx 350 and the Gx470 that isn't too expensive to maintain. My family needs two Suv's, we are in Africa, live in Nigeria precisely, the sedan is to alternate between cars as roads aren't as good everywhere.
Get a Toyota. I don't know which models you got there in Africa but I'm sure they should be cheaper than Lexus. I know you look for SUVs but you may think about Toyota Hilux and also Hiace as well.
How about the Land Cruiser equivalent of the Lexus GX SUVs?
For the Xtrail, assuming it’s the turbocharged 2.0L, you want to be positively sure that the engine is still in good shape and not worn out.
If possible, have them all thoroughly inspected by an honest professional mechanic, before purchase.
I know how highly Toyota/Lexus products are regarded in Africa, so they may well be your best options (provided they’re still in good mechanical condition).
All the best!
X-trails are decent, but from what I have seen, Toyotas are more popular and well regarded in Africa, so you might be better off looking into those. If you want a rugged SUV, buy the GX, but if you're just looking for a nice commuter car, buy the ES 330.
