What is the purpose of the big plastic guard do under a 2012 Honda Accord that blocks the transmission drain plug? What a hastle to remove for a transmission fluid change! Can I leave it off my car or cut a hole in it so that the transmission drain plug is readily accessable? Thanks!!!

Apparently, these were weak attempts at getting better mpg by streamlining air flow. They are, in reality, useless and in the way. Take it off and put it in a dark corner of your garage.
