Hi Scotty,
I have a 2007 H3 Hummer,
I changed the water pump, Thermostat, radiator, anything you could think of, but my gage goes up till a little under the Red zone(Hot) so they say it’s ok as long it doesn’t reach the red zone, I see most cars didn’t pass the middle, please advise, your the best mechanic so far, thanks man.
Your owner's manual should tell you the correct temperature range for your vehicle. For some, it's in the middle of the gauge, for others, it's in the upper part of the gauge. If it bothers you, put in a lower temperature thermostat, ie, a 180 degree instead of a 195 degree. If it's reading high, did you properly burp all the air out of the system when you put in the new coolant? Let us know please.
"a little under the Red zone" on a GM is definitely bad. Don't mess with the temperature setpoint unless you want to start getting various diagnostic faults.
