This is a weird question. Is there a difference in radiators between vehicles with automatic vs standard transmissions? I'm replacing the radiator in my truck which is a standard transmission and some places list radiators for automatic transmissions. {black}
Yes. For many years, the automatic transmission vehicles had a built-in transmission fluid cooler. As long as the upper and lower hose connections is the same. One trick people have done using radiators for auto trans vehicles, is plug the trans cooler fittings. Just gotta make sure the plugs, seal and don't leak.
Usually there is a transmission cooler in the radiator for automatic transmissions.
I would hold out for the correct radiator for your manual trans. Auto trans radiators, with connections for the trans have less cooling capacity for the engine.
