Toyota rav4 model 2012 Japan made with 172000km. I am facing a problem there is small amount of oil in coolant of radiator. Mechanic are not sure whether it is from gear oil or engine oil. It just stay on the surface of coolant. Second issue my car decrease the complete coolant reservoir at journey of 100km. There is also no leak. It only happen when Ac is working. Without ac it stays same for a long period of a month. Any one can trace out from given information. Thank you in advance

When the AC is on, your engine works harder. You may have small leak in the engine that results in mixing coolant and oil and use g the AC makes it worse. Since you don't see any drips, odds are you burn it all way which is not good. Try the head gasket kit first.

Thank you. It was the same issue.
I had fix it from a mechanic a week ago. But still water is missing from radiator means same issue. Should I ask mechanic to use double head gasket or its good for engine milleage and save.

You don't need double head gasket. Your mechanic didn't fix it right. Find a other mechanic.

What exactly did your mechanic do?

Actually he clean head block both sides and put new gasket. As he told all piston cylenders are good and cylender ring also.
Where coolant flow inside block little bit wall of that side was corroded. He put compound there.
I also feel same he did not fix well. Thank you.

He "did not fix well." You have a blown head gasket(s0. The heads need to come off and be resurfaced and rebuilt with all new head, intake and exhaust gaskets.

Yes your right he did not fix it well. Thank you. I appreciate you for all your help.

As the others have already said, you need to find another reputed mechanic & ask them to first diagnose what all is wrong with the vehicle, before throwing more money at it. Please keep us updated with the fix. All the best!
