Radiator issues

I have a 2007 Chevy uplander with the 3.9L V6. It has roughly 160K miles on it and I noticed the heat was getting cold at idle, I checked the coolant reservoir and it was full but when I took the cap off the radiator it was low on coolant. What would cause the coolant to not be pulled from the reservoir?

a bad pressure cap. A leak.

We were able to diagnose the problem as a bad water pump. There was an air bubble in the heater core that we got worked out and that's when it started leaking.

Oh good. I'm glad you solved it so quickly. And thanks for reporting back.
