Radio volume

I have a 07 Toyota Corolla with 140,000 miles. The volume button doesn’t work properly, I turn it to adjust the volume, either up or down, and it just quickly jumps back and forth to different volumes, and the volume number flickers. So, I just leave it on the same volume. Can this be fixed or does the radio need to be replaced.

Replace the radio.

The rotary encoder probably has shmutz in it. pull the knob off, spray some electrical contact cleaner in the hole, being extremely careful not to get the cleaner on anything else. Twirl the shaft back and forth. Replace knob.
