Ram 1500 Engine Failure At 100k Miles??

I Recently bought a 2011 3.7 Ram 1500 With 98k miles. Old couple I bought it from claimed to never drive it, and they had another 2500 in the driveway. I changed fluids when I bought it since it was sitting, only drove it 8k miles. I thought this truck would last me a while, any thoughts??

That's the wrong way to think about modern Chrysler products, particularly in the aftermath of the post-bankruptcy Fiat takeover. Note that engine problems are pretty common:

(Those trucks are prone to electrical problems as well.)

What specific engine failure occurred? Cam and lifter problems? Blown head gasket? Bearing failure? Were any engine problems, such as low oil pressure, noted during the pre-purchase inspection?

Engine oil looked like it needed to be changed when bought, rod bearing went out more specifically

Although as mentioned engine problems are common in that model, I don't think it's from that kind of failure. Possibly the previous owners didn't keep up with oil changes and the engine was sludged up internally.
