Hello scotty,
I have a 2008 ram 4.7 L with 160k miles. I bought 6 years ago with 98k and dealer power flushed the transmission at 100k. Now at 155k I had the transmission filters changed and only the fluid amount changed in the pan. Issue is When the truck is cold there is a delay changing gears from park to drive or park to reverse. Seems okay for a while but becoming a problem when in a having to rush. Sometimes letting it rest for 3 hours causes a delay. Occassional the shift while driving seems chunk in lower gears, think when downshifting. Should I change the shift solenoid? I read also that some oil could be leaking by the torque converter to causing delay in friction. Looks like the mechanic used synthetic oil. Thought an older truck would not have that type. Thanks for helping. Watch your channel every night. L

Your starting to experience slip. Try a bottle of Lucas trans stabilizer. You’ll have to let some atf out, same quantity as the Lucas bottle. It has friction modifiers that help slipping trans.
sure, i try it. simple fix.
I wouldn’t call it a “fix” more like a bandage to get more miles out of it before it eventually craps out. I’ve seen people get a year more, some a day. Never can tell.
Yes, bandage for a while.
