RAM emergency brake cable hangs low.

Hi Scotty, I have a 2014 RAM, V6, regular cab 4x4 with 8' bed and 42k miles.  My emergency brake cable is hanging low.  I tried lubing where the E brake cable is attached to the back brake plate on both sides but the levers do not slide back.  I even tried tapping them with a mallet and wooden dowel. I hardly ever use my E brake but now I don't use it at all.  I have a feeling I'm causing excessive wear on my rear brakes and rotors.  Any way to fix this without taking the whole rear brake assembly apart?

BTW, love your videos and notice you're a cat person.  Me too, we have 3.

Thanks,

Bob from NJ.

You have to go through all the linkage for the e brake and lubricate and free up all moving parts.
