Hey Scotty about a month ago I bought a 2007 Manuel Mazda 6 with 140,000 miles .The only problem I have is if I shut off the car after driving for a while and try to start it back up while the engine is still warm, randomly (with no pattern) the car will go into limp mode. After about a minute the car will start up like normal again. I have scanned the car multiple times with my scan tool and the only codes that show is a “3rd gear safety switch” what do I do?

Please post the code number. Those manuals have a shift position sensor that works in conjunction with the neutral safety switch. Once you start the car they really don’t get used any more til next start. I suspect that sensor is probably going bad, especially since it only seems to work ok when car is cold. Again post the code number so we can dig further.
