Aloha, bought a 02 Camry 4 cl, 145k Miles for $220.
They said trans was slipping. Drove it around after I bought it, shifted a lil hard no slips. Drained all I could, and put 3ish quarts of trans fluid and a bottle of Lucas.
Then drove it around, and it seems to drive fine honestly. I think lex broodies, told her that her tranny was toast or something..the fluid was brown when drained it, didn't smell burnt on dipstick before draining. No metal shavings present on the drain plug.
So I have a transmission lined up from a junk yard Incase this one goes, it's from a rav 4 tho. I heard those have the same engine. Would it work on a 2002 Camry, automatic. Not too sure year of rav, probably around 03-05.

Would a trans from a 06 Pontiac vibe automatic fit in the 02 camry
The transmissions would have to be identical. It's not like a 1960s rear-drive car where transmission swaps are relatively straightforward.
Moderator @dan is very knowledgeable about transmissions and may have details. (A quick glance at the rockauto.com database suggests the Camry and RAV4 transmissions are very similar at least internally, the Vibe totally different.)

I wouldn't attempt it, just get the correct tranny.
It might work, although I wouldn't expect it to.
