Hi scotty I bought a 2020 rav4 le 4 cylinders. The engine is loud on start up .wondering if this is normal.
It’s perfectly normal! It’s a high pressure direct injection pump. Something in the order of 2900 psi fuel pressure that it must deliver into cylinder.

That RAV4 with LE Trim has the 2.5L NA I4 engine with both port and direct injection.
Ok, So the sound you hear is from the high pressure of direct injection (GDI) and it is normal.

Presumably this is under warranty. Take it to a dealer, and when they say, "they all sound like that" ask them to take you out to the lot and start one of the RAV4s they have for sale to prove it. RAV4 engines aren't silent, but loud?
