I'd trust a Toyota made in Mexico or in a backyard in India more than an American car made in America. Toyotas made in Japan are the best. But they still use the same procedure and quality check anywhere in the world. In other words, they care about what they sell and their future image.

Toyota’s made in Canada are perfectly fine - nothing wrong with that. Keep in mind, too, that quality/reliability/durability has to be designed/engineered in from the beginning long before the vehicle is assembled, which Toyota is generally good at doing (at least compared to the competition today). And they have quality control steps and processes that have to be carefully followed at the factory.
