Greetings Scotty! Ive got a 2018 Rav4 Le with 56,000 miles on it. I need to change the transmission fluid but im unable to do it myself. Should I take it to my local toyota dealership to have them change it since theyd use toyota branded products or should I look for a shop somewhere with good ratings? Thank you so much i hope to get this done soon.
Look for an independent, honest mechanic that has worked extensively on Japanese vehicles (especially Toyota/Lexus) to be safe. Ask around (coworkers, friends, family, local parts stores) for recommendations and research them (BBB, Yelp Ratings, etc.)
any shop has access to Toyota parts and fluid.
I would suggest taking it to transmission shop.
I wouldn’t fret much. Just go to your nearest Toyota dealer and tell them what you would like them to do to your car. Ask them to describe the whole procedure to you. And if you like how they describe it, time frame to do it and all that, … just let them do it!
Before that, however, following is a vid that describe how all this is done. Watch it, … you want to be familiar about the process before you talk to them. Knowledge is strength.
