Hello Scotty. I watch your videos often. I greatly appreciate the time you put into the videos sharing your skills, experience and opinions. And, your humor always makes me laugh. Thank you.

I own a 2004 Lexus RX330 with nearly 147,000 miles. I has been running with no problems or concerns. After watching one of your videos, I purchased the 505 CRO Oil System Treatment. Carefully following the directions, I kept the engine revving between 4,000 and 5,000 RPMs for 12 minutes. The engine coughed and sputtered several times during the process. Sometimes the engine seemed to loose power until I punched the accelerator peddle to keep it revving. Immediately after the process was completed, I drove 1/4 of a mile to my local repair shop and had my oil changed. I use full synthetic oil. Now, after driving only 3 miles the engine has a whine that it never had before. The whine gets louder the more I push on the accelerator. It is not only annoying, it is troubling. Would you have any suggestions as to what the whine may be? I'd greatly appreciate your opinion.

Thank you so very much!

It could be low power steering fluid or a worn-out serpentine belt.

But before you replace anything, find the source of the noise.

Holding your engine at 4-5K rpm will ruin your engine.

The directions on their website states:  "Run engine at high idle for 10 or more minutes then change motor oil and filter." High idle is 1500 rpm, not 4500 rpm.

Hopefully you only have a bad pulley or belt!

@hixster Thank you.
