Hello is there a way i can post a picture here? Im not a expert i put oil leak dye on my 307 5.0 oldmobile 89 caddy idk of its the oil pan or the real main seal that is leaking
Oil pans rarely leak spontaneously, but real main seals do frequently. Go to imgur.com and post the picture there, copy and paste the url into your post here.
Judging from the picture and the age of the motor, (1989) I'd guess that the rear main seal is leaking.
Ok another question i had trans fluid on the bolts does that mean that the trans gasket it leaking? Or is there another way the trans can leak?
If the rear main seal is indeed leaking, the trans will have to be removed for replacement. There is a good chance the trans input shaft is also leaking and should be replaced as well.
I checked the car again n did not really see trans fluid only saw it on the bolts a lil bit
Can that be a sign that the trans gasket is bad?
