Really dissapointed by KIA

Hi to you all;

since I am in the market for buying a new car; I've been test driving every major brand for the past 4 months.

I've test driven the new Picanto and Rio. THESE CARS ARE THE WORST CRAP I've ever driven. The ride quality is bad; the interior fit and finish is all scratchy; the engine had 2;000 kilometres on it and I felt vibrations already. The instrument cluster looked like an aftermarket thought. Lastly; I felt no connection to the car.

This makes me wonder....WHY DO PEOPLE BUY THESE CARS? I had a '06 Picanto and it was a an unreliable; low-quality piece of junk with only 69;000 kilometres. I reckon the quality of Kia has not improved since.

I ordered a 2022 Škoda Fabia (a VW). It is a high-quality; sporty little car with plenty of standard equipment. I may be biased; but the Germans really know how to build cars.

Well, people get fooled by all the advertisement BS about how great Kia is. They are not good cars, they are better than ones from the 80s and 90s, but they are still crap as of today. They already make bad gas cars and I don't see them making good EVs either because of all the problems that they have had. The Skoda that you bought is definitely a superior vehicle, I have always loved Skodas and I would buy one if I were to move to Europe, but my dad's brother in the UK has a 2013 Skoda Superb Estate Diesel (this was a replacement for his old 1997 BMW 320i, great car but he hit a goat which caused some issues with the damage it had) and it still runs like a champ, no issues and has never stranded him.

May I ask why did you buy it?

How does that phrase go?  “There is a sucker born every minute.”

It's really a matter of perception. If when looking at Kias you expect cheap design and construction, self-destructing engines, grenading drivetrains, spontaneous vehicle combustion, short lifespan, and overall low quality you will not be disappointed.

$ vs $$ vs $$$ vs $$$$ vs $$$$$.

Kia is probably the cheapest of the cheap. It may cost you more in the long run, but the features and pricing of Kia draw many folks in.

GM can out do them
