Hello sir, a fellow Airforce Veteran here....I have a 1999 Lexus RX300 AWD. I had bought this used just today with codes for knock sensor and intake manifold gasket according to Autozone. However, my question is about rear differential. Does this have it and do I have to regularly change it? I had traded in a 2002 Expedition for this Lexus with the differential issue and now I'm scared with any AWD vehicle. I'm just trying to stay on top of it sir..... Thank you!

it's an AWD, so yes you're going to have between one and three different driveline components with oil that needs to be changed regularly.
Yes, that Lexus AWD has a front differential, rear differential, and a transfer case. The FWD version only has the front differential. For longevity, I would stay on top of the fluid changes for those - see owners manual.
usually the front diff is integrated into the transmission. And some AWD vehicles combine the center diff into the rear diff, and other such things. I can't speak to this Lexus though.
