[Solved] Rear Windshield Wiper Problem

I have a 2005 Lexus RX 330, 140 K miles. The windshield wiper is not properly wiping the rear window. It only wipes the lower half of the desired area and does not clean the upper half at all. I just got a brand new wiper blade and that is not fixing the problem. Help! Will a wiper arm replacement address the problem? Can a DIYer with only basic tools (screwdriver, wrench, hex wrench) replace the wiper ARM? Also will any wiper arm replacement from AutoZone work or do I need to buy a OEM arm at a Toyota or Lexus dealer? Thanks!

Yeah, in general those rear wiper blades don't work so well with the curvature of the window. The rear wiper on my 08 Mazda 3 hatchback does the same thing lol. It hardly rains here in Southern California, but the next time I change it, I may go with a "flex beam" wiper blade instead of a traditional. I find that the flex beam ones are great with "hugging" the curvature of the window/windshield.

Are you using a flex beam wiper blade or a traditional one currently?

did the arm get bent? Try just bending it back with your hands.

The arm does not appear bent, but the arm appears to sag. Perhaps the arm needs to be reinstalled?
