Rearmaster in particular is pretty good for detection of low battery in it's surveillance mode. Used it when I use to smoke a lot of cigarettes. Other than this though I don't really think you need to go direct to obd 2 since most newer dashcams come with sensors that detect movement. My $40 dollar amazon one turns on with the car off if I even get in the driver's seat since I set the mode to extra sensitivity. To free up the cigarette lighter for a phone charger or to smoke sure. Whatever works. My only rec is to not go buy a cheap one that will mess up the obd 2 port.
