I’m looking to buy a new (to me) but used car, I like the idea of convertible or a Jeep. There is a 1983 Jeep Wrangler cj7 model that has had its engine rebuilt. The current owner put a Chevy 350 small block in place of the old engine. It’s also turbocharged, automatic and priced at 10,000 with only 12000 miles on the new motor. Should I consider buying this car?

It sounds "butchered" rather than "rebuilt". Who knows to what standards that stuff was done. I'd pass on it.

Ok I was thinking the same thing, thank you. Thought I’d get another opinion

I would agree with Chuck Tobias said. You never know what the owner did to "rebuilt" the engine. I would pass cause it's too much to gamble with.
