Hey there, I know a salvage title due to bail damage is almost always a safe bet, but what about rear impacts on fwd cars? Of course have a mechanic check it out, but are there any major issues that could happen to the engine or tranny from a relatively minor, rear end impact?

I'd pass. If nothing else, in a collision severe enough to total the car frame damage is likely whether front or rear drive.

electrical issues
body/suspension alignment.
Water leaks
etc....

Have a friend drive behind you to see if the car is crabbing.

I don't buy, sell, or recommend salvage/rebuilt anything, for any reason. Once something is salvage, its junk.
