I love the channel and knowledge you share. Against your recommendation, I am wanting to purchase a new vehicle as opposed to a used one. My wish list is a mid size SUV, awd or 4wd, decent gas mileage, and towing up to 5,000 lbs. I won’t be towing all the time, but just want the ability. I usually keep my cars 15-20 years. Do you have a top 5 recommendation?

I am not sure of the tow ratings either.
If you can get away with a AWD, RAV4 or Highlander, those would be good choices for unibody SUV's.
But I am not sure if those will meet the tow rating. A 4Runner or Sequoia may be necessary for that tow rating.
I think 20 years is a lot to ask. Your best chance at longevity would have to be a Toyota SUV (RAV4, Highlander). I don't know what the tow ratings are, but you can find the specs on toyota.com
