I'm thinking about getting a 1989 chevy astro van for $500. It has 225,574 miles on it. It's automatic. I'm just curious what your thoughts are on the old astro vans? Is it worth getting?

It depends what your intentions are.
They were great little vans. This 32yo specimen is eligible for antique status.
Because it's so old, everything will be falling apart, so it will be a money pit, and it will never be worth very much.
But if it runs, and you just need it to move your things to a new house then sure.
