Pretty much 4Runner always wins, corolla may be close though.
Keep in mind that you only mention reliability, that series seems to have a lot of complaints about ride quality. The outback has a good many complaints of electrical issues among other things.
Always a good idea to rent one and ride it for a while, get a feel for it.

Both are reliable, but 4runner is more reliable.
