Reliable and practical 3 row with trunk space after 3rd rpw is up

Hi, my sister and her family will be having another new baby, they are trying to find a reliable suv with 3rd row, that still has some trunk space after the 3rd row is up.

Ideally they hoped for an Lx 570 or sequoia, but they're very expensive, anything decent is above 60 grand.

They don't want a minivan.

What other reliable options can they explore.

Thank you for your responses.

If they are willing to take a calculated risk:

Lexus TX

Toyota Grand Highlander

Mazda CX-90

If used:

Post 2012 Highlander

Sequoia

Gen Three Pilot with 6 speed transmission, not the 9 speed. Possibly the MDX counterpart.

Gen Two Pilot. Possibly the MDX counterpart.

The two things to consider with the Honda Pilot is to factor in the timing belt maintenance. (Or if there is evidence that my has been done, great!) They may be cheaper than the Highlander, perhaps because of this maintenance item. And also, VCM may be a potential problem. If there is a way to check that the engine hasn’t been compromised because of VCM, that would be a good check. Not sure what years have VCM, but something to look out for on the Honda’s.

Also possibly the CX-9.

I have had a friend with a sequoia, and when people mention wanting a huge, reliable, people carrier, that is what I think of. They are big, comfy, and you can't much get bigger unless you get a sprinter.

Now a Land Cruiser (Lexus LX) for sure is huge and reliable, but you pay more for it. If the off road capability is needed, go for it.

Sequoia and LX are so reliable, that you can buy them used with confidence. As long as you have the vehicle checked out properly.

@kaizam thank you.

Those are all new cars.

Not sure they're willing to take that risk.
