What's a good new reliable sports car?
Mazda MX-5 Miatas are good.
1. Mazda Miata
2. Lexus RC-F
3. Honda Civic Type R
4. Subaru WRX STI
Those are about all I would recommend.
What about LC500, although that’s more a GT vehicle.
Those are awesome cars as well. More on the luxury side of course.
I never thought of the civic type r as a sports car. But I guess it fits!?
It's pretty much built to race...and handle..it's a sports sedan.

There are only two, if you talking new: an expensive one, and a cheap one:
- Lexus RC F, and
- Mazda MX-5 Miata.
F.S.
I’d also consider the Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ.
Another vote for Mazda Miatas. They’re little tanks.
I would recommend a Subaru WRX or WRX STI - great handling, strong acceleration, and good practicality. I just bought a new 2020 WRX several weeks ago and I love it. Of course, it's brand new so only time will tell about reliability. The WRXs have been pretty reliable since 2015, except for a couple throwout bearing and clutch issues on the 2015 and 2016 model years. But, Subaru seemed to address this from 2017 onwards. As long as you don't abuse or excessively modify them and you stay on top of maintenance, they can be very dependable and fun cars.
