I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna, automatic with 92,000 miles.  When approaching the vehicle, the keyless remote entry fob will only activate if I get very close to the front engine bay.  However, once it connects and opens the vechicle, and if I constantly push the key fob, I can back away from the vehicle and it will continually activate the unlock for over 50 feet away.  Once I stop, and wait any longer than 10 seconds, it will no longer unlock when pressed and I will have to return to the front engine bay area to get it to activate the unock again.  This happens with both sets of key fobs and they both have new batteries.  Any idea what is causing this?

Yeah you're receiving unit is starting to break down. Once you get it to work the first time close it's activated and then it works okay. Personally, I'd live with that cuz those assemblies cost a fortune and have to be reprogrammed when replaced
