I'm changing out the front brake pads on my 04 Suburban an noticed that the brake caliper guide pin boots were busted/torn. I have the replacements that came with the kit, but don't know how to take them off or install. Do I need a special tool for this?
Not really I just got the old ones off and then after taking everything apart slipped a new ones I'm using the small little screwdriver to get the lip over the edge and then spin it around the side and snapping on you could pour a little brake fluid on it to make it slip faster
The boot has like an aluminum base that I believe tucks into the bracket. An inside the aluminum has like some kind of ridguds to keep the bolt steady I guess. But I can't get the old one out. Looked up some videos online an there was only 2 that I found, an those guys took of the bracket to install the boot.
