Hello everyone. So 2 weeks ago I purchased an aftermarket JDM Exhaust Tip and am having it installed to my Civic Monday morning and was wondering if its illegal to remove the silencer?

It is illegal if the noise level passes the limit, and I think it does if you remove the silencer.

State laws might differ, but a noisy exhaust has more chances of getting pulled over.

Oh okay. I'm from North Carolina and am an owner of the 2001 Honda Civic LX with a 5-Speed manual tranny not sure how it would sound
