Hi scotty my wife's car is dead. The trans gave up after having been rescued from accidental introduction to water several months ago. I'm trying to find a good deal with 6 cylinders but I'm uncertain if that truly matters. What is your advice on a good used car under 10k that hasn't been beat up or driven into the ground. I don't trust hyundai.

What are your (her) requirements? Hatchback? Sedan? Crossover? SUV? Pickup?

Honda Accord or Civic would be good, as would Toyota Corolla or Camry.

Well unfortunately realize that the average used car in the United States today is 29,100. You'll have a hard time finding a good car for 10 grand but if you can get a Toyota or a Honda go that route

I would stick to Camry or Avalon.

As Scotty said, Used cars are currently very expensive and I don’t think that there are decent cars for that price range due to the global car shortage.

personally, I’d just probably try and put a cheap junkyard transmission in it and see if it’ll go again.

but as everyone else said the Toyota Camry, Toyota Avalon, and Honda Accord - are the way to go it you're looking for a 6 cylinder reliable car.

An older Camry, Accord, or Avalon or maybe even an even older Lexus would be the best route.
