Replacement for 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4 door

I have a nice 2016 Jeep JK Unlimited Sport S model that has an open rear differential. In rain or slippery conditions, it slips and slides. The manual states that 4WD should not be engaged unless the vehicle is being operated in loose, slippery conditions. I have also read that the 4WD components can be damaged if operated in conditions other than those. The type of snow we get here in eastern Pennsylvania does not usually stay on the road surfaces long enough and there may be patches of it but it quickly turns to mostly dry pavement with snow on the edges or patches here and there.

I feel handicapped not being able to use the 4WD in the rain and snowy conditions I mentioned for fear of binding up the 4WD system and causing expensive repairs.

I would need a similar vehicle that can tow a trailer that weighs no more than 1500 pounds but I would certainly feel better with an AWD system like a Subaru, Toyota, or Ford.

What would you recommend for my situation?

Your advice would be appreciated.

I'd say get a Toyota if you can afford one. If not, there's many used Subarus out there. Subaru makes very good all-wheel drive systems

Thank you Scotty. I was considering the Highlander and I know you like those. You are a gem in the industry and everybody appreciates your help. Have a good and safe new year!
