RIP 2000 Toyota Camry

{black}:scared: I have a 2000 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinder with 287,000 miles. It’s a little hard to let the car go.. but ..

I put a new coolant sensor and new thermostat. It recently starting leaking coolant from the water pump. Mechanic said it won’t be worth it to replace the water pump as there’s leakage elsewhere. He also said there’s engine damage from oil mixture? Probably not worth saving the car, but I’m trying to figure if I replace the engine can I get my money’s worth for at least a few months to a year considering the current supply shortage and inflation…

Is it worth 4 or 5 grand to replace the engine?

If the head gasket is blown, but the rest of the vehicle (especially the transmission) is in excellent condition, you may want to consider putting in a rebuilt/used engine and continue driving her.

Price out a new used car vs installing a replacement engine (with labour).

All the best!

KEEP HER, and fix it up. If you buy a new car you will be in debt. You will save money keeping the car than selling.. I got a new car.. the car payments are over 600 dollers. And I offered a trade in.. they said no because It was below a 2010… they had a weird system… tho.
